I photographed my first gay wedding on Saturday, what a wonderful day it was (and the weather was fantastic as well). The flowers were stunning, the guys were dressed in kilts, and everything was black and white including the guests attire. I can’t show any of the images just yet as the 2 grooms have not seen them yet, but I will sneek in a photograph of the room as it was spectacular. (Flowers by Nicci-G).

Last week was my 25th wedding anniversary so we had a party at the weekend and invited a few friends and my family for a hog roast catered for us by ‘Catering 4 Occasions’ which was fantastic, the food was great and the service excellent. Below are a couple of photographs I took before most of the people arrived. I wanted to get a photograph of everyone present, but was far too busy toalking to them all that I never got around to it. I should have paid someone to come and take the photos for me !!!

We didin’t have a table that was clearer any higher than this to use!! But what a great cake. We have a motor home and do scuba diving, the gear on the top of the cake is scuba kit!

Sindlesham Court in Winnersh is a Masonic Lodge that now does civil ceremonies and civil partnerships in its’ large airy chapel which is quite stunning. The inside of the building has been recently rennovated and looks beautiful, and the room used to welcome the bride and groom or same sex partners by the registrar is quite stunning. Below are a few photographs that show the inside of the wedding venue. It has a huge main hall which can take up to 250 people and still have room for a dance floor or 400 people for a sit down meal only. What a beautiful setting for a wedding!  This Victorian era building still has many original features like high ceilings with plaster mouldings, chandaliers hanging from rosettes in the ceiling, huge fire places and wood paneling. The extensive grounds have tennis courts and football pitches and 72 acres to roam in. A wedding here is a very special event.

I exhibited at a superb wedding venue in late January, Fredricks Hotel in Maidenhead, it has a small but beautiful garden with some amazing statues in it and a swimming pool that goes outside (hence the mist in the photos) and it is very warm so you could easily swim in it. There are some great places within the property that could be used for wedding photography. The inside is very nice as well and could be good for indoor wedding photography. Had a good day at Frencham Ponds Hotel on 24th Jan 2010, what a beautiful hotel for weddings and civil ceremonies. A huge lake out the front with a small stream and a bridge to cross over for feeding the water birds. There is also a nice area round the back for photographs, a nice rural venue for a wedding or civil ceremony.

Had a fantastic weekend watching the ABSA husky racing in Wareham Forest and taking a few photographs just for fun. The dogs just love running and can’t wait to get started making so much noise and jumping up and down like mad things. belwo are a couple of photos from the weekend. Sherfield school is a beautiful old building converted to a school that allows wedding receptions to be held at the school. Huge fireplaces and beautiful grounds give some stunning backgrounds to your wedding photography or civil ceremony photography. At Trunkwell Mansion House, Mortimer near Reading, Berskshire they have the most beautiful room they use for the civil ceremonies, a real old fashioned fireplace and classic chairs with antique oil paintings on the wall. Below is a photograph of the room.
