At Trunkwell Mansion House, Mortimer near Reading, Berskshire they have the most beautiful room they use for the civil ceremonies, a real old fashioned fireplace and classic chairs with antique oil paintings on the wall. Below is a photograph of the room.

Great day on Sunday lots of brides through the door and a couple deffinitley seemed interested in me as their wedding photographer so lets hope the phone rings in the next couple of days.

The Hilton is a lovely modern hotel, some can be a bit cold and soleless, but the Hilton at Newbury is lovely, a nice chandalier as you come in the main door and lots of wood panelling give a warm cossy feeling. THe main room used for weddings is light and airy so good for indoor photogrpahy as well.

Oakley Hall has at least 2 rooms in which it can hold civil ceremonies and the photograph below shows the larger of the 2 rooms. The grounds outside are beautiful and provide some interesting spots for photography. There is plenty of parking and it provides a delightful atmosphere in which to hold your special event.

St Micheal’s Church in the centre of Basingstoke is a beautiful old church with flint and stone brick work on the outside and some lovely vaulted arches on the inside. There is also a balcony from which to photograph the proceedings.

Basingstoke Registry Office has been decorated in the style of the building and is quite beautiful inside. It is light and airy and the registrar is friendly and calming. Below is a photograph taken inside the registry office, the posed signing of the register.

Every wedding or civil ceremony I have done in the main rooms at Tylney Hall has always been enhanced with a simple ceremony involving the lighting of candles by the bride and groom. It makes the rather short and impersonal civil ceremony a little more personal. A nice touch to aperfect day.

Tylney Hall at Newnham near Hook in Hampshire has 3 different rooms that it can hold marriage and civil ceremonies, the largest of which has a beautiful ancient fireplace at one end. The photograph below shows the fireplace in the cremony room with a four(4) piece quartet playing.

St Anne’s Manor Wokingaham is an old building that has been extensively enlarged and so it is hard to see where the original building is. As a modern hotel it is very functional from the outside and very comfortable on the inside. From a photographic point of view it has a nice area out the back of the hotel with a fountain and some very high trees for shade and clean backgrounds. I was so impressed with the inside of Windsor Guild Hall that I thought I would put another photograph of it on my website for viewing. It is quite a stunning venue and the registrar was fantstic really made it fun and interesting.

After the wedding fair on Sunday I got a chance to take some photographs inside Ufton Court as well as outside, the sun was not in the right place for the outside ones but was ideal for the inside ones. They have really kept the character of the old building and it is stunning. See below:
